The band biography

Founded in 1993 under the name Corpus Christi and soon rebranded as Sacrificium, the band quickly carved its own path in the extreme metal underground. After releasing their first demo, Demo 1996 (CD), and the follow-up tape Mortal Fear in 1998, Sacrificium began performing live with bands such as Extol and My Darkest Hate, solidifying their reputation as a powerful live act.

In 2002, the band took a decisive step forward with the release of their debut full-length album Cold Black Piece of Flesh on Whirlwind Records, followed by a promo tour with German act brain[faq]. Their sophomore album, Escaping the Stupor, arrived in 2005 via Black Lotus Records and was supported by extensive live performances alongside renowned acts including Dismember, Unleashed, Hatesphere, The Black Dahlia Murder, God Dethroned, Entombed, and Eluveitie.

The years that followed saw Sacrificium continue to refine their sound and presence. In 2013, they released Prey for Your Gods through Whirlwind Records, followed by the 2019 EP Avowal of the Centurion on Nordic Mission. In 2021, the band partnered with Vision of God Records to reissue their first three albums, keeping their legacy alive for a new generation of listeners.

Most recently, Sacrificium released their 2023 full-length Oblivion on Nordic Mission Records. The following year, they embarked on a tour across Mexico, further expanding their international reach. In 2025, they marked another milestone with the release of their digital single Laid to Unrest, underlining once again their energy, depth, and commitment.
